Social Media!

Throughout social media class we learned tons of different webtools that you can use in daily life.  My favorite tool that we used was probably the photobucket tool.  When I got my senior pictures put on the computer, I used photobucket tool and it was awesome.  I think you went over a lot of really good tools in this class, some I most likely will not use but I still think they are great tools.  I usually only use internet for Facebook, researching for a project, or shopping but you showed us some really cool tools that may help me out later on life. Imagination Cubed!

Imagination is a really cool tool you can use to draw awesome pictures.  You can do many different colors and shapes on this tool.  There are many different types of shapes you can use or different pen types.  Below is a picture that Juanita and I drew.  I hope you have as much fun with this tool as we did.

Templates!

The template tool on google docs is a really neat tool that you can use to pick out a template that you can put on your blogger account or you can just keep it on your google account. There are thousands of different templates that you can chose from to find that one you want. You can also do a search for the kind of template you want to have. The template tool is really neat tool and I would use it to get a calendar if I never needed one.

Firefox Add-ons!

Firefox add-ons is a really cool tool that you can use to make it easier to visit a specific site you want to go to.  I added the picnik add on to my toolbar because I love going to this website and editing my pictures for fun.  There are thousands of different add ons that you can add to your firefox web browser.  You can also go through the pages and click either dislike or like and I believe that it goes directly to your facebook page.  The picture above is all of the add-ons that I have added on my browser.  I hope you have as much fun as we did searching and adding firefox add-ons.

Google Docs!

This is an awesome tool that we can use to put a word document on so we can work on it at home even if we don't have Microsoft Word on our computers at home.  It is really cool that you can put a word document, an excel document, and a pages document.  Another cool thing about google docs is that you can have different people work on one document at the same time even if you are all the way across the school or town!  I would advice using google docs for anyone.

Tiny Chat & Favicon!

Tiny chat is a really cool tool that you can use to chat, video, and talk with.  We used this tool to explore what it is like to use a webcam and microphone to talk with other people.  You do not have to make an account to use this tool all you have to do is visit tinychat.com.  Favicon is also a really neat tool that you can use to make a personalized picture to put next to your url.  Facebook is an example of a website that was a favicon and now so does my own blog.  It is a picture of my mom, my dad, and I!  You can to go many different websites to make a favicon.  We visited favicon.cc if you would like to make your own just go to that website.

Domain!

A domain is when a person can get a new extension and website for there own website they are instead of having one super long URL.  Godaddy.com is a website you can use to buy a domain for your website.  First you have to check and make sure that your website and extension is available for you to make.  If I wanted to have emiliesblog.com instead of emiliesocialmedia.blogspot.com, godaddy.com is a good website that you could go to to purchase a domain.  You can also get a domain through Blogger.

Google Health!

The google health tool is a neat tool that you can use to keep track of your medications you take, things you are allergic to, health problems that you've had, and many other things.  I like this feature because you can go here to always know what types of things have ever happened to you,   You can also keep track of any medications that you have to take and keep track of remembering.  Below is a picture of a few things on the google health tool.

Bibme!

Bib me is a tool that you can use to help you cite your sources for a research paper or any type of paper that you would need to cite your sources for.  You can search for the book or magazine that you are looking for on this website.  If you find the book you want you can click Select This and it will add that source to your library.  It is a very neat tool that will help high school students cite a research paper for a class.  Below is a picture of the website, you can also visit www.bibme.com

Persona!

A persona is a way that you are able to "dress up" your browser.  There is a ton of different designs that you can find to make your browser your own and unique.  If you'd like to find a certain type of picture for your persona, you can search for a certain type.  I picked a beach theme for my persona and below is a picture of my persona.  This is a really cool tool that you can use to make your firefox browser better!  Visit www.persona.com to make your own.

Igoogle!

My iGoogle homepage is a place where you can add gadgets and have fun on!  I found some pretty cool gadgets to my page such as Bloons, Frogger, Random Facts, the date and time, and the weather.  There is a lot of awesome gadgets that you can get on the iGoogle homepage.  Below is a couple pictures of my iGoogle homepage that I created. 

Histats!

Histats is a visitor counter that you can make many kinds of counters on.  You would make one of these to see how many people visit your site in a day or as long as you've had your blog up and going.  This is a tool that you can use to track your visitors.  Even if you don't know that someone is visiting your blog, you can find out where the person visited it from by using histats.  If you'd like to visit the website you can go to www.histats.com or scroll to the bottom of my page and click on my pink counter!

Blog Gadgets!

On the blogger website you can get very fun or useful gadgets to add to your website.  The blogger website has many different gadgets that you can or you can go to google and just do a search on blogger gadgets to see what else is available.  Above there is a picture of the fish gadget that I added to my blog.  You can also feed the fish, in this picture my fish are eating.  There is also many different ones such as calenders, quotes, and pictures of things.

Stats!

We added a new gadget today which was the stats application. You can see how many people have looked at your blog since the day you made your blogger account. I have had 134 people look at my blog from the United States, 7 people from Canada, and 2 people from Mexico. I think its really cool that you can see where the people looked at your blog and how many people have looked at it.  Below is a picture of where the people that have visited my blog are from.  When you are using the Stats feature, it shows you pictures of where people are from and even how many people visit your blog in one day.

Wordle!

While you are using Wordle, Tagxedo, or any other wordle website you can copy and paste big speeches or a list of words that you like or would like to member.  If you are using one of these word cloud websites to make a word collage you can change the themes, colors, direction of words, font, and the font size.  We made a word cloud about social media and this is the one that I made below.  You can visit www.tagxedo.com or www.wordle.com to make your own!

My Meez Room!

At the meez.com website, you can also make a pretty neat room.  If you click on this website, you can visit the room that I made.  The link is http://www.meez.com/roomz.dm?act=view&room_id=dr1.YHKTCb9rLQPb.  Although you have to have a certain amount of coins to be able to purchase some of the things to put in your room, it is a really cool tool.  On the meez.com website you can also play games to gain coins so you can purchase more things for your room.

Symbaloo!

Symbaloo is another awesome website that you can visit to keep all of your bookmarks in one place and it is very easy to use.  If you don't like the bookmarks they already have on the website you can delete them and add the websites that you want.  You can change the colors of your "tabs" so the ones that are in the same category can be the same color.  If you'd like to make your own account, you can visit the website www.symbaloo.com

Diigo!

The Diigo website is a neat social bookmarking website that you can use anywhere you want. It is sort of like the delicious website we have already visited which is another social bookmarking website. You can tag websites that you like and they will go on your page. Also if you are researching for a paper with a partner and your partner is sick or absent, you can highlight the text and it will automatically go to the Diigo website and if your partner is on your network they will be able to see the information you found.  You can go to this website by www.diigo.com

Text anim!

Below is an animated text!  We learned how to use www.textanim.com.  Its a really cool tool that you can use to animate your text!  You can change the size, color, font, and the pattern what goes through it.  I thought this was a very fun thing to use!

Meez!

I loved the meez avatar figure website! It is pretty much like a virtual world. I think its very cool that you can make some animated figure online that looks somewhat like you. Even though you have to buy some things and spend a some coins, its a very neat experience. You can change the hair color, change the eyes, make the make up awesome, change your background picture, and you can make it do motions! Voki!

I think voki is a really cool tool!  I think its great how technology has come so far that if you make a little character on the internet you can add your own voice to it.  You can kind of make the avatar look somewhat like you.  Although it won't look exactly like you, you can change the hair color, eye color, how long the hair is, your voice, and you can change the background to something you'd like or so it looks like you.  Voki was a very fun thing to use.

How I currently use social media!

When I am online, my favorite thing to do is..

• I like to get on facebook, picnik photographs, and chat with my friends.
• I currently get on facebook all of the time! I check it probably every hour or even less sometimes. I don't really know how often i check it, but it is quite a bit! I also like to shop online sometimes. Sometimes I also like to ask google something if I have any questions.
• I'm hoping to learn how to become more aware of the internet and all the sorts of things that you can do or find on the internet!
